Ruby Lucas, MPH, Research and Evaluation Consultant, is a PhD student in Epidemiology at the University of Washington. Ruby received their Master's degree in Public Health in Epidemiology (Maternal & Child Health) at the University of Washington and Bachelor's degree in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Ruby’s primary research interests include mixed-methods research to examine psychosocial and environmental factors that influence the health and well-being of queer, transgender, and BIPOC adolescents and young adults, including the intersections of access to health services, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health. Ruby utilizes quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and engages with youth in communities who experience marginalization. Ruby is interested in collaborating with health systems and community-based organizations to evaluate programs and identify interventions that better meet the needs of these communities. Ruby has worked with the School Health Service Research and Evaluation Team since 2020 and currently assists on evaluating mental health supports for transgender and nonbinary youth.
