Samira Soleimanpour, PhD
Samira Soleimanpour, PhD, MPH, Associate Professor, has led numerous multi-site, multi-method evaluations of school and adolescent health initiatives with the School Health Evaluation & Research Team for over 20 years. Her primary research interests focus on the influences of school environments and health services on children’s health and education outcomes, with a focus on school-based health centers (SBHCs), school-based mental health (SBMH) services, and community-based participatory research. She utilizes quantitative and qualitative methods in her research and evaluation work, including primary data collection through surveys, interviews, and focus groups and secondary data analysis. Samira currently serves as the Principal Investigator on the evaluations of school health initiatives throughout California focused on SBHCs and SBMH programs. As an academic research partner to the School-Based Health Alliance, she contributed to the development of national performance measures for SBHCs and the National Census of SBHCs. Samira received her Master of Public Health from the George Washington University and her PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is committed to the translation of research and evaluation findings into policies and programs that improve children's health and well-being.
