California School-Based Health Alliance (CSHA)

Our UCSF team has partnered with CSHA on a number of projects for over 15 years. In 2021, with support from Blue Shield of California's BlueSky Initiative, we conducted a survey of California school-based health centers (SBHCs) to understand how they were impacted by and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2010-2020, we partnered with CSHA on an evlauation of the West Contra Costa County Unified School District’s (WCCUSD) School Health Initiative, which was launched to coordinate and expand health services to students through SBHCs and Full Service Community Schools in WCCUSD. The UCSF team also partnered with CSHA and the SBHCs on an evaluation of the Young Men's Empowerment Collaborative, an initiative funded by the Department of Justice that aimed to provide supports to young men who were exposed to violence.
