California’s Homeless Education Technical Assistance Center (HETAC) Evaluation

2021-present. The School Health Evaluation and Research Team is conducting an evaluation to help determine if the HETAC effectively provides support, guidance, and expertise to County Office of Education (COE) homeless liaisons throughout California regarding the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistant Act. Evaluation methods include a statewide COE Homeless Coordinators Needs Assessment, Program/Technical Assistance Tracking Logs for use by each of the three regional HETAC leads, Post-Training Surveys, and analysis of California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) data to describe characteristics of students who report that they are experiencing homelessness.
