California’s Education for Homeless Children and Youth Technical Assistance Center (HE-TAC) Evaluation

2021-present. With funding from the California Department of Education, the School Health Evaluation and Research is conducting an evaluation to help determine if the HE-TAC effectively provides support, guidance, and expertise to County Office of Education (COE) homeless liaisons throughout California regarding the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistant Act. Evaluation methods include a statewide COE Homeless Coordinators Needs Assessment, a Program Log tool for use by each of the three regional HE-TAC Coordinators, an online Post-Training Survey, and analysis of California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) data to describe characteristics of students who report that they are experiencing homelessness.
